About the business and the role:
Our client is a leading multinational company which has an extensive manufacturing and retail footprint is looking to appoint a highly experienced Senior Demand Planner who can evaluate, optimise and lead complex and high value categories. Reporting to the National Planning Manager this position will ensure the forecasts are validated and the appropriate assumptions are managed across a rolling 24-month forecast. KPI's will reflect improved forecast accuracy, inventory optimisation and the implementation of 'best in class' planning principles.
Job tasks and responsibilities:
The Senior Demand Planner is responsible for Supporting Sales, Marketing and the broader business with analysis of the market and customers, whilst being focused on removing bias from the forecasting process. Developing a comprehensive statistical Demand Forecast Model(s) that incorporate historical data insights, customer demand, marketing campaigns, market movements, and key drivers. Establishing a robust business planning processes with appropriate sign offs and feedback loops to manage the natural variability inherent in the demand forecast.
Skills and experience:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Demand Forecasting, Modelling and Statistical Analysis.
- Tertiary Qualifications – Business, Commerce, and/or Supply Chain Management is preferred coupled with APICS.
- Extensive knowledge of Inventory optimization, Manufacturing and Retail operations.
- Must have a proven track record of process improvement and influencing change through effective communication and stakeholder management.
- Strong Analytics skills
- Advanced Excel and ideally SAP knowledge.
