Visy has a great opportunity for an experienced Fleet Allocator to join their busy and dynamic team. This role is responsible for the day to day management of company drivers and external carriers. The key focus is to ensure that all transport requests are actioned whilst delivering an exceptional level of utilisation, customer service and relationship management.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing freight movements between waste sites and Paper Mills in all Capital cities and regional areas/
- Operational Scheduling - Ensuring all requests are planned and assigned to transport and shipments tendered to appropriate carriers while prioritising allocation to Visy Logistics Fleet
- Daily liaison with carrier base to secure available transport, pursuing the lowest cost carrier per lane without jeopardising the customer’s transport requirements and relationship
- Liaise daily with other Visy sites to ensure we meet and exceed their requirments
- Site visits to build relationships with both customers and subcontractors
- Compliance with legislative requirements and Visy policies
- Daily monitoring of rates - ensuring all requests and shipments have rated correctly for both the customer and carrier
Ideal Candidate:
- Prior experience with Fleet Allocation/Coordination
- Strong planning and time management skills
- Works with a sense of urgency and can handle pressured environment
- Can work through critical issues in a methodical manner
- Excellent communication and customer service skills for both internal/external stakeholders
- Work as part of a team to pursuit lowest cost and high efficiency
- Confident computer skills (Google Sheets experience an advantage)
