The Train Services team has an opportunity for a confident and driven individual to step up to the role of a Duty Manager.

The Train Services Duty Manager role is accountable for real time management of train services in the day of operations and acts as a key stakeholder with all areas of the business to support operational train running. In this role, you will manage real time service delivery of Metro’s Train service functions and be the first point of contact for operational matters relating to or impacting Train Services including; safety incidents and events, service disruption, emergencies and Driver inquiries. You will coordinate with Train Service Officers, Principal Driver Specialists, Driver Allocation Roster Supervisors and Metrol to ensure adequate resources are allocated to manage service disruptions and to provide an effective response to operational and safety incidents. The safety and welfare will be at the forefront of what you do as you lead the real time support of our drivers.

You will come to us with operational and management experience- preferably within the Train Services division, and a proven history of high performance within a similar role in a safety-critical, crisis/incident management environment. Your communication skills and ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels will be second to none.

Safety awareness and responsibility will be second nature to you along with your drive to deliver innovative solutions and continuous improvement in a challenging and high pressure environment.

You will be required to work a rotating roster, supporting our 24/7 service delivery, which includes weekends and public holidays.
