Huyck Wangner is seeking a proven Production Manager, eager to demonstrate their leadership and management skills, and ability to enhance productivity through the development and implementation of strategies aimed at driving growth and developing strong relationships across the production environment.
Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate achievements in the development & implementation of short & long term business objectives with a focus on continuous improvement of processes.
Responsibilities:
- Achieve or exceed budgeted Cost per Kg targets.
- Achieve or exceed Inventory budget targets.
- Supervise the Production Team to produce and prioritise jobs and, when necessary, reorganise to meet deadline changes and updates.
- Communicate effectively with the General Manager, the Sales & Applications Team, and the Production Team, informing and updating them regularly to guarantee that production, sales, and customer objectives are met.
- Implement and drive continuous improvement activities through implementation of change management process and best practices
- Advise management on capital improvements needed to increase company productivity.
- Ensure preventative maintenance of all production equipment.
Required skills & attributes:
- Outstanding leadership, communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to plan, manage, co-ordinate and execute the daily production schedules ensuring minimal waste and optimal labour efficiency.
- Ability to build strong relationships reinforced by improved process, procedures and communication within the production environment.
- Management of end to end supply chain management.
- Effectively plan, establish and maintain a strong culture of excellence, innovation and continuous safety and quality improvement within the production environment.
- Ability to forecast, monitor, implement and manage production targets/budgets.
- Must be driven to meet and exceed KPI targets.
- Minimum 5 yrs experience in similar role.
- Must have a firm understanding and experience in LEAN Manufacturing & SIX SIGMA principles.
