About the Position - Stores/Warehousing Officer

As a Stores/Warehousing Officer you will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operation of the Stores Area, including providing support towards inventory activities, planning, receipts, dispatch, and storage and processing of materials/goods/parts and products.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Receiving goods and inspecting them for damages/discrepancies.
  • Cross-referencing goods against invoice/shipping docket for accuracy, including correct price, correct product and correct quantity.
  • Preparing and packaging goods for dispatch, including completion of relevant documentation and following relevant legislation, guidelines and standards.
  • Creating kits for product builds, including selecting materials for making up kits and dealing with any kitting issues that arise.
  • Completing activities/documentation for specific deliveries (e.g. customs and dangerous goods); ensuring compliance with regulatory and licensing requirements.
  • Picking up stock in local region (i.e. Canberra/Queanbeyan) as required.
  • Delivering receipted goods internally throughout CEA.
  • Assist with inventory issues and returns to and from warehouses.
  • Cycle counting and placing or relocating stock.
  • Accurate data entry into the computer based inventory management system.
  • Other general Stores duties, including counter service, processing requests and preparing consignment notes.

The Person

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in a stores or warehousing environment.
  • Excellent people skills, including the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • The capability to work independently and to strict deadlines/timeframes.
  • Strong attention to detail - must have an eye for detail and be meticulous in approach.
  • The ability to do heavy lifting.
  • High level numeracy skills.
  • The ability to investigate and solve problems. 
  • Good customer focus with a timely service orientation.
  • Good computer skills to use inventory management system and Microsoft Office.
  • Current Forklift Licence desirable.

This role will require an Australian Government security clearance.  The successful candidate MUST be eligible to obtain one.
