About the Role
As a member of the Infrastructure Planning team, the Planning Analyst provides analytical support, demand and capacity modelling, and operational performance benchmarking for the Planning team and the airport's business units. The Planning Analyst develops and maintains a suite of analytical models that forecast current and future asset performance, deliver integrated and coherent indications on the timing and size of additional infrastructure capacity requirements, and support the timely delivery of capital investments and operational improvements at the airport. Through their collaboration with the business, the Planning Analyst will also support the establishment of a single source of truth regarding the airport's operational data.
The responsibilities of the role include:

Undertakes analysis of demand and capacity trends to support the master and capital planning process. Engages with the business in the development and use of these models, to agree the book of modelling assumptions, interrogate and interpret outputs to inform the production of reports and presentations.
- Airport Planning Research and Commercial Support: Understands business problems and uses sensitivity tests in capacity models and simulation tools in order to identify potential solutions. Consults with the business to ensure the solutions are practical and robust before implementation, ensuring the information and data held in APAM's capacity models is well managed, controlled, reviewed, and updated in a timely and regular manner. Proactively improves APAM's understanding of service levels (e.g. queue time, process rate, and capacities) at the airport and influences agreed service standards by understanding constraints and identifying mitigating actions.
- Continuous Planning Process: Keeps up to date with developments in analytical methods and techniques that are applicable to APAM's business. Develops knowledge of airport management, operations and APAM's wider business and commercial activities in order to provide Planning and the business with informed interpretation, analysis and reporting. Proactively seeks opportunities to improve the quality, reduce the processing time, and improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the analytical tools and processes.
- Tertiary qualification in a numerate or analytical discipline. Aviation qualifications will be viewed favourably.
