Minjar Gold Pty Ltd is an Australian gold explorer, developer and producer who has been in operation since 2009 and is focused on gold exploration and production in both Western Australia and Queensland.

We are currently searching for an experienced fixed plant Mechanical Fitter to join us on a fulltime basis to assist us performing day to day preventative maintenance, installation and construction tasks associated with the mechanical maintenance of the gold plant at our Southern Cross operation. The role available on an 8/6 roster, on a bus in, bus out (BIBO) basis from Perth.

To be successful in this role you must have the following Skills, Qualifications & Personal attributes: 

• 3+ years’ experience working on gold processing plants
• Previous experience with pumps and crusher rebuilds
• Experience with processing plant preventative maintenance programs and systems
• Hazard identification and risk assessment
• Current WA manual driver's licence
• Mechanical trade certificate
• Working at Heights ticket
• Crane ticket
• Confined space ticket
• Welding experience and certification (desirable)
• EWP certification
• Strong safety awareness
• Strong attention to detail
• Self motivated and well organised
• Good time management skills
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners
• Strong focus on delivery and a thorough understanding on sense of urgency requirements
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

Duties and responsibilities of this role include, but are but not limited to:

• Being able to carry out maintenance and repairs on all fixed plant including: sag/ball mill, cone crushers, conveyors, gearbox's, submersible, centrifugal, sump and slurry pumps
• Ensure all work carried out has been recorded and all parts are booked out correctly
• Basic welding
• Assist and ensure all staff put all equipment away or ensure it is left in a safe manner at the end of shift
• Participate in the nightshift rotational roster and respond to call outs as required
