HS Manager

My client is a leading resources provider who is currently entering an exciting expansion phase and as such has an immediate requirement to appoint an experienced HS Manager to support a major initiative across projects and operations. With an impressive portfolio of projects and a strong pipeline for the foreseeable future and a strong culture on establishment, embedment, monitoring of government and processes is essential

You will be responsible for:

• Overviewing the design and implement a Health and Safety Management System and develop processes
• Reviewing the engagement of contractors and establishing safety standards to work across operations sites and project developments.
• Manage compliance systems to ensure appropriate governance and due diligence of health, safety and environment risk matters
• Establishment, embedment and monitoring of governance processes.
• Lead and develop health and safety strategy, supporting senior management to drive risk management and mitigation that support the business and Health and Safety goals.
• Drive the Company’s commitment to provide and promote a ‘No Harm’ safe and health working environment for employees, contractors and visitors,
• Provide leadership in shaping and modelling desired safe, healthy and environmentally responsible working culture amongst employees and contractors that will assist in providing a safe and incident free work place.
• Design, develop, support and execute effective OHS management standards and controls to meet operational safety requirements and regulations.
• Overcome new obstacles to achieve results that set high standards for others, analyse trends and fine tune to develop and enhance systems

Required Experiences:

• You will have a proactive approach to implementing and structuring environment, health and safety practices across numerous sites.
• You will have the ability to deal with senior manager and workforce alike
• Certificate IV Occupational Health and Safety

• Demonstrated senior reporting experience in a site based HS role, including conducting incident investigations and identifying workplace hazards and conducting audit.

• Management experience within a large commercial public company.

• Working knowledge of the MSIA Act, Regulations, relevant standards and codes of practice,
• Track record of successfully delivering on organisational and personal KPI’s
