Experienced Senior Resource Geologist required to join WA mining company north-west of Kalgoorlie.
Your new company
This mining company is a global-scale gold producer with world-class projects located in Western Australia and the Northern Territory. They have acquired a number of operations and are a looking for an experienced Senior Resource Geologist to join their team based north-west of Kalgoorlie.
Your new role
Reporting into the Geology Manager, your primary role will be to lead, train and maintain a Resource Geology Team that delivers high quality and timely delineations, estimations, and reporting of critical Reserves & Resources.
Duties will include:
- Display commitment to health and safety and seek to eliminate the any risks
- Monitor the management, quality and performance of assay laboratories used on site
- Design, maintain and monitor processes that ensure integrity of grade control and resource models
- Monitor and report to Senior Mine Geologists on the standards of the drill logging and face mapping information, and ensure that they propose and implement suitable measures to correct problems that are identified
- Monitor the QA/QC process and results, taking action to correct any irregularities
- Monitor the drilling schedule to ensure that it is meeting the requirements of the operation as well as the model schedule targets
- Ensure the integrity of all grade control and resource models are sound before they are handed over to the Engineering Department
What you'll need to succeed
Essential
- A degree in Geology, preferably with Honours, from a recognised tertiary institution
- Current “C” Class Australian Drivers Licence
- Experience in mining and/or exploration geology, particularly in resource modelling of a narrow vein style gold deposit
- Proficient in the targeting and supervision of drilling programs
- Skilled in geostatistical software’s, preferably Vulcan and Datamine
- Previous supervisory experience, strong report writing and communication skills
- Senior First Aid certificate (desirable)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test
