ABOUT YOU

To be successful you will have:

• A great attitude with the ability to help develop a positive culture towards not only safety but to people development
• The ability to have a positive influence on the development of crew members
• Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a similar role and within a oil and gas environment is required preferably on Oil and Gas Drilling Rigs onshore.
• An understanding and a working knowledge of HSE practices, standards and codes
• Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
• Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or equivalent;
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

Role:

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Assist the team to ensure all activities include Zero Harm (ZH) requirements throughout delivery and implementation
• Site based training
• Sound knowledge of safety management system implementation
• High level communication and reporting skills required to communicate effectively with Senior Managers via numerous means;
• Good verbal and written communication.
• Strong interpersonal and mentoring skills.
• Good computer skills with working knowledge of Windows based products and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Implementation, promotion and maintenance of employee safety consultation and engagement processes;
• Hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control
• Provide advice, assistance, coaching and mentoring
• Former experience work in Safety is essential with rig knowledge and training ability
• Assist crew members in writing JHAs and SOPs.
• Identify training needs of employees in the field.
• Monitor and update training matrices.
• Incident investigation
• Knowledge of industry standards
• Proven attention to detail, information process and problem solving capability;
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
• A flexible and adaptable approach to changing demands within the business.

• Be physically fit/ ability to pass a Medical with fitness testing,
• Regular drug and alcohol tests and a police clearance
• Roster 21/21
• Site based role FIFO
• Point of hire is Brisbane
