About the Role

The Site Supervisor will be based at our Ararat Wind Farm in Victoria, located about 2 hours from Melbourne CBD. You will be responsible for managing and overseeing the safety, schedules, customer relationship, overall site work and providing leadership for the team in the regular maintenance for the wind farm. This is a hands-on role for an energetic Manager with proven supervisory and planning skills.

Day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Preparation of work programs for the timely servicing of assets (GE Wind Turbines)
  • Organise daily work plans for site staff, contractors and associated on-call rosters.
  • Guide and assist technicians in the proper maintenance and fault finding of assets.
  • Maintain reports using GE’s various software management tools and databases and provide weekly / monthly reports to GE management and the customer
  • Report errors, violations, incidents or problems immediately using GE reporting systems
  • Submit enquiries to Engineering to ensure technical issues are resolved
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with the organisation’s policies and procedures
  • Oversee high voltage operations according to site procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure that the manpower, equipment and materials necessary to meet job Environment Health & Safety (EHS) requirements are available at the facility or project site, when needed,
  • Participate in EHS processes, such as audits, inspections, reviews and training and ensure all accidents and incidents are investigated

About You

You will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience supervising wind service operations or similar industry experience, and a background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (either a qualified electrical supervisor or a qualified mechanical fitter with electrical endorsements as a minimum). As well as holding (or working towards) a Certificate IV in Work, Health & Safety (WHS) In addition:

  • Project management and execution for wind plant projects, including an understanding of construction and operational issues associated with these types of projects
  • Understanding of High Voltage Maintenance Operations, High Risk Work activities and responsibilities of a supervisor

As the site supervisor, you will be a highly motivated team player, self-starter with strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. A passion for the industry and a strong customer focus will enable you to excel in this position.
