The Position

The Emeco HR Team are seeking a full time, fixed term Payroll Officer to join our team on a 12-month maternity leave contract. Reporting directly to the Payroll Supervisor the individual will have an opportunity to utilise their full function Payroll experience.

The individual will work closely with a team of experienced HR and payroll professionals. The position will be responsible for providing day to day support for our corporate and regional operations in the following areas:

About the Role

This is a full function Payroll Officer role who will be required to complete the following duties:

  • Processing payroll from start to finish using Chris21,
  • Setting up new starters and processing termination payments,
  • Interpretation of multiple awards and EBA's,
  • Month End processes and reporting,
  • Assisting the Payroll Supervisor with tasks,
  • Maintaining employee files,
  • Adhoc duties as required.

Your Skills and Experience

To be considered for this opportunity you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Knowledge and experience in a generalist Payroll, preferably with some experience within the mining, resources or manufacturing sector (site based experience is highly regarded),
  • Experience with Chris21 Payroll Software is crutial
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) and the confidence to work with all levels,
  • Effective problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills and can do attitude,
  • Experience interpreting Awards and the Australian Fair Work Act,
  • Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure with conflicting priorities,
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel and Word) and experience with HR information systems and tools;
  • Able to work as part of a team and build inter-team effectiveness and,
  • Initiative, ownership, integrity and confidence,
  • Experience with Taleo would be highly desirable

Location: This role will be based in Osborne Park, WA
