The Opportunity
This is a great role for either a passionate savvy Fitter or an experienced leading hand, to organise Trade Personnel and the Service Department within our Gladstone branch. Reporting to the Service Supervisor you will lead and develop the team to fulfil the Company's work requirements. Additionally work will involve participation in equipment overhauls and the use of Komatsu operating programs to generate technical and service reports.
The Role
You will be a people person leading from the front, having a strong safety focus and be able to inspire and support your team. You will enjoy sharing your knowledge and experience and thrive seeing your team reach their goals. Duties will include:
- Delegate duties and tasks to your team maximising labour outputs
- Assist with quotations/tenders and efforts to reduce job costs
- Provide technical and product information to staff and customers.
- Supervise trades persons to work on plant equipment and components in accordance with manufacturers' standards
- Assist with job estimations including planning and job progress
- Supervise the on the job training of trades persons and apprentices in consultation with the training staff.
- Certified Tradesperson (HD Fitter or similar)
- Current Drivers Licence (LR or MR ideal but not essential)
- Excellent team work skills and a natural leader
- Self-starter with strong communication skills and an excellent eye for detail
- Working knowledge of Quality Assurance and active in promoting its principals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a good understanding of computer systems
- Demonstrated commitment to safety
- Forklift, Working at Heights and Senior First Aid Certifications (preferred)
