We have an exciting opportunity for a Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Specialists to join our team. You will be responsible for supervising HSEQ aspects around the ongoing projects and site team, you will also asses/mitigate site risk based on local statutory and Enel requirement. This role is based at our Sydney office with frequent travel to project sites when required.

Your duties include:

  • Checking minimum HSE requirements during tender process and monitoring of Contractors’ performance;
  • Cooperate with HSE site team for control the HSE documentation drawn up by the contractor and, if necessary, make amendments to it
  • Implement and monitor all initiatives aimed at improving safety and environmental standards and performance on site coordinating the worksite HSEQ officers, handling relative fulfillment and providing timely information on events of interest;
  • Draw up periodic reporting of KPIs to HSEQ department, in order to manage safety and environment issues on site in compliance with EGP/Enel Group Group’s guideline, local regulations and authorizations;
  • Participate in Investigation of the Accidents/Incidents analyzing the information, determine the root cause, identifying risk control measures and formulating report & action plan for further implementation;
  • In cooperation with site HSE, plan and organize internal HSE Audits, Inspections & with Contractor and sub-Contractors in order to verify the effectiveness of HSE Management System. Maintain compliance report of internal audit, client audit, external audit & tracking system for close out;
  • Carry out frequent visits to the site in order to eliminate or reduce the risks of occupational health and safety and / or environmental in the worksites activities;

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree qualification in WHS/HSEQ discipline
  • At least 5 years' experience in HSE roles within construction site (civil jobs – infrastructures, construction of sub-stations, roads & bridges).
  • Experience in:
    • Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment expertise
    • Root cause Analysis techniques
    • Incident Investigation
  • Training as auditor Management Systems (ISO 9001 , ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001) is considered a plus
  • NEBOSH Accreditation is considered a plus
  • Excellent teamwork, coordination, detail orientation and communication skills (written & oral)
  • Demonstrate leadership skills with focus on safety, integrity and empowerment of those working for you.
  • Ability to multi-task and communicate well in a busy work environment
  • Regular driver’s license required
  • Available for frequent Domestic travel (at least 2 weeks of the month) with some international travel when required
