We are pleased to be recruiting for South32 at their GEMCO operation on Groote Eylandt for a Mine Surveyor.
The Role:
Reporting into the Senior Measurement Services, you will be responsible for Machine Guidance data collection, analysis and validation of existing mined surfaces of Topsoil, Overburden, Top and Bottom of ore and dump areas ensuring this data is available for use in the Production Planning process.
Responsibilities include however are not limited to:
• Establishing survey control and measurement services from pit to port
• Collecting, analysing and validation high level data for use in the Production Planning process
• Capturing all survey data to assist with production planning, volume reporting, swell reconciliation and accident investigation
• Maintaining the survey database
• Assisting with month of end reporting
• Identifying and implementing safety, volume and cost improvement initiatives
About you:
The successful candidate will bring a Tertiary qualification in Surveying and strong safety leadership skills together with a background in the investigation of reported events.
Additionally, you will possess:
• Proven experience in a similar role
• UAV remote pilot licence and preferably an Authorised Mine Surveyor
• Experience with UAV Technology and applicable software
• Sound understanding of Modular Mining Systems relating to Modular Provision
• Proficiency in Trimble GPS, Total Stations, I-Site Scanner, MaVinci Pro UAV, Vulcan and
I-Site Studio software
