ESS is the market leading support services division of Compass Group, providing multi-service capability to major companies operating in the oil and gas, mining and construction industries and to the defence sector. The full spectrum of services offered ranges from the design and build of camp structures to operational support in catering, housekeeping, technical services and logistics.
The Position
This role is based in Mt Isa on a well-established site covering mine site cleaning. You will be working mainly Monday to Friday however flexibility of hours will be required to cover both AM and PM crews in regards to both training and quality checks. This is a role for a Mount Isa Based local.
As the Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Advisor, you will be responsible for the continual development and implementation of operational safety, health, environment and quality assurance policies and systems, risk management, compliance and training. Importantly, you will be responsible for providing specialist advice along with delivery of effective HSE programs, compliance with the Compass Group Quality Standards and for playing your part in developing a culture committed to these programs. Your role will require you to provide guidance and support to team members on site, working closely with Operation teams and Management. The successful applicant will also be required on occasion to cover management positions.
The Person
- Previous experience as an Occupational Health and Safety professional ideally with catering and food safety experience
- Tertiary Qualification in WHS (minimum Diploma level) and current Cert IV Training and Assessment
- Experience in internal auditing and compliance
- Demonstrated experience in establishing & maintaining relationships with clients, management & staff
- Pro-active, well organised approach to work independently with excellent communication/presentation skills
- Experience working in a remote or harsh environments including previous FIFO work is desired but not essential
