Barminco Ltd is currently seeking suitably experienced U/G Leading Hand Service Crew for our Agnew Mine Site in regional Western Australia. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor you will be required to carry out the installation, removal and maintenance repair of underground mine services.
These opportunities are permanent positions, FIFO out of Perth, on a 14/14 roster.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Service Crew and Paste Crew workers through their day to day operations;
- Provide a high level of experience and knowledge in training less skilled staff;
- Extend ventilation services to areas where needed, which includes hanging ventilation bags and moving/installing secondary fans;
- Extend water, air and pump services to areas where needed;
- Move and install pumps to areas where needed;
- Maintain and repair services and equipment such as vent bags, poly pipe and valves;
- Hand installation and grouting of cable bolts;
- Installation of underground infrastructure;
- Construction of ventilation walls;
- Installation of remote operated equipment infrastructure;
- Assist other U/G departments as required
Minimum Requirements:
- Current & Valid Australian Drivers Licence;
- Rights to Work in Australia;
- Solid history of reliability and good work ethic;
- 5+ years' experience in underground mining;
- Experience in underground service crew/paste crew work;
- Experience in a Leading Hand
- Trade Qualification for Special Projects work;
- A proactive attitude toward safety and hazard identification.
