About the role

WesTrac is seeking an energetic and results focused Longwall Sales Specialist to be based out of our facility in Tomago. This role is responsible for the promotion and support of Caterpillar Longwall equipment and automation in the NSW customer base and for identifying, capturing and maximising our sales opportunities in order to achieve market share outcomes. As such the role will require frequent travel to underground longwall mine sites in NSW, across areas such as Wollongong, Lithgow, Mudgee, Newcastle and the Hunter Valley.

About you

As the successful candidate you will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Relationship development and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence key stakeholders;
  • Underground coal industry and machinery knowledge, especially longwall;
  • Experience in sales and customer facing, particularly relating to equipment and solutions selling;
  • Issue management experience;
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to analyse data, compile reports and quotations;
  • Willingness to travel and a current NSW Driver’s Licence;
  • Automation experience is desirable.

You will possess a professional and proactive approach to your work with experience in supporting high performing teams. As a strong communicator and influencer you will have the ability to work effectively with all levels of the business and our customers, and will be adept in negotiating and problem solving.
