We are pleased to be currently recruiting for South32 for their Alumina Refinery based in Worsley for a Laboratory Analyst on a 12-month fixed term contract, which may become permanent.
The Role:
The key purpose of the Laboratory Analyst is to analyse samples from various plant operation areas, assisting in the continuous monitoring and control requirements of the alumina refinery. Reporting into the Shift Supervisor you will be tasked with providing a prompt and reliable analytical service to the operation.
Responsibilities will include:
• Analysing routine process control samples by a variety of modern analytical techniques
• Assisting the production and process engineering personnel by monitoring routine results for process anomalies and arranging repeat samples where required
• Participating in process investigations by analysing samples and performing specific tests
• Analysing alumina shipment samples and generating certificates of analysis
• Ensuring timely and accurate reporting of data including daily or weekly laboratory reports
About you:
It is preferred that you bring a minimum of two years’ laboratory experience ideally in an alumina refinery, however candidates with five years’ experience in an analytical or geochemical laboratory would be considered.
The successful candidate will bring a great work ethic, have a commitment to safety processes and a drive to improve process.
