UGL are looking for experienced SMP Work Pack Engineers to join our Asset Services division based in Paraburdoo, Western Australia. This opportunity will be on a casual basis with the view to ongoing work for other UGL projects. You will need to be available immediately and be able to travel to site and work on a 10 day on 4 days off roster.
 
As an SMP Work Pack Engineer you will be proactive in developing and maintaining high work levels of safety and productivity.  You will be working and contributing as part of a team, working on a project, where the highest levels of safety are required by providing your experience input to the project through the development of scope.
 
The primary challenge of this position is to ensure the project or other assignment is completed in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet contractual arrangements made with the client.
 
Reporting to the Site Manager you will be responsible for:
  • Ensure all work packs and job cards contain the right content / information to allow the successful execution of the works onsite
  • Ensure all ready for implementation approvals are obtained to meet deadlines
  • Ensure all work packs and job cards reflect the scope of work to be undertaken through liaison with all associated HSE, Quality, Procurement, Plant, Equipment, Tooling, Resourcing requirements are satisfied
  • Review implementation estimates 
  • Continuously improve the quality and accessibility of the work pack / job card information up to and during implementation phase
  • Ensure a successful transition of the work pack / job card requirements from development to site implementation and close out 
  • Ensure all work packs and job cards are kept up to date and all changes are accounted for in a timely manner
  • Manage the implementation related change and growth during the project
  • Site travel to assist project coordination during the initial project phase may be required on an adhoc basis
  • Develop and manage the understanding of risks associated with projects and actively assist in the process of eliminating or mitigating risk
  • Promote health and safety awareness at all opportunities 
  • Monitoring of workpack progress against project baselined plan
  • Maintaining focus on schedule and have a working knowledge of project milestones

Qualifications & Experience

 
To be successful in this role you must possess resource industry experience along with;
  • 5 years’ experience in development and management of Work Pack / Job Card delivery
  • Sound knowledge of industry and best-practice standards and their relevance to the sites engineering activities. 
  • Engineering qualification relevant to Coatings, Insulation, Mechanical or Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines
  • 5 years industry experience within Mining/Iron Ore
  • Leading edge knowledge and expertise of construction practices, standards, systems and processes relevant to the project engineering activities.  
  • Experience working within a multi-cultural workforce is preferred. 
  • Relevant experience in an industrial services organisation facilitating engineering controls.
  • Reliable, dependable, responsible, flexible, an excellent communicator, strong leadership and seasoned people management skills. 
  • Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines consistently.
  • Seasoned communication & coordination skills.  
  • Experience working within a multi-cultural workforce is preferred.  
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a high functioning team
