IGO are currently searching for an experienced and qualified Control Systems Engineer to join the team at our Nova Operation. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role is a permanent position on an attractive 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth. The Nova Operation is located in the Fraser Range region of Western Australia. This is an exciting time to make your contribution to this world class nickel operation as we continue to build advanced automation into our surface and underground assets.
Key accountabilities for this role include:
- Provide expert control system services to process plant, paste plant, water services and underground mining customers;
- Troubleshooting and continuous improvement of PLC and control systems;
- Ownership of control system integrity, improvement and asset management;
- Design, installation and construction supervision of electrical and control systems assets including underground network;
- Project management of improvement projects from business case through to close-out;
- Develop and implement PMs across all control system assets;
- Manage priorities and collaborate with stakeholders to provide outstanding operational support; and
- Act as a steward for a positive and engaged culture of safe behaviour, quality and operational excellence.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Tertiary Qualification in Electrical / Control System Engineering;
- Significant experience of practical hands-on engineering and operations experience in a mineral processing plant and underground environment;
- Demonstrable experience programming and commissioning Allen Bradley Control Logix PLC’s, Studio 5000 and Citect SCADA;
- Extensive knowledge of control systems, industrial networking, electrical systems, instrumentation and drives;
- Proficient skills and knowledge in fault finding of mineral processing plant;
- Exceptional written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills; and
- Working knowledge of WA Electrical Regulations, Australian Standards and MSIR Act and Regulations is well regarded.
