About the role
We are looking for a Process Engineer Raw Materials to be accountable for the raw material consumption analysis, optimisation and forecasting plus short-medium term operational support for the materials handling team.
This role is a great opportunity for an analytical, safety focused Process Engineer who wants to develop their knowledge and experience in this technical role. Reporting to the Superintendent Process Engineering – Production Planning, you will be:
- Monitor and report on technical and quality performance of the refinery.
- In depth performance monitoring on specific plant equipment and raw material consumption.
- Identification and resolution of potential bottlenecks to production and product quality.
- Determine and maintain cost effective use of raw materials.
- Evaluate and implement shorter-term sustainable improvements to the operation of the refinery.
- Provide planned coverage for the Shift Process Engineer role
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering in addition to Process Engineering experience within the heavy industry environment.
- Proven ability to work in a multidiscipline team environment of technical professionals.
- Commitment to safety with the ability to work autonomously and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Experience and knowledge within the Bayer process.
- Advanced Excel and Visual Basic Programming
- Stockpile management or bulk handling
