Reporting directly to the Manager Planning & Performance Manager, the key purpose of this role is to assess, develop and execute new production processes and structures to maximise the value of APLNG's operating portfolios.
Through analysis & review of gas reservoir modelling & data, the Production Planner is responsible for producing monthly production forecasts (2 years in advance); which will be presented to asset managers, asset services, site schedulers and commercial to ensure the success of the whole of the Asset.
The incumbent will work collaboratively with all stakeholders, responsible to deliver maximised and/ or optimised portfolio production plans and at the same time capable of strong personal contribution and self-start capability. The role requires key influencing skills and out of the box thinking.
- Managing monthly production performance and underlying facility and field drivers of production
- Analysing and reporting on the divisions of actual and forecast information to facilitate monthly and quarterly management review of production, variance analysis and performance
- Maturing production (improvement project) frameworks and processes including forecasting, monitoring, risk management, constraint management, and work management processes and interfaces to drive the Upstream Asset portfolio
- Working with a multi-discipline team including planners, schedulers, facility managers, engineers and operators
- Leading a work environment that creates agile ways of working and develops ownership, pride and accountability of production standards at all levels of the company
- Ensuring the health and safety for all employees, contractors and service providers through appropriate competencies, processes and compliance
You'll need to be a data fanatic accustomed to working with large volumes of data, analytically focused to draw meaningful insights - and able to communicate with a wide range of key stakeholders.
- Formal tertiary qualification preferably Engineering/Economics/Commercial
- Demonstrated experience in a similar planning forecasting function within oil and gas production industry (or similar eg: mining) with substantial production advisory/analysis
- Modelling background and/or BI system exposure, with an analytical and process mindset
- Experience presenting and communicating at senior management level
- Strong track record in risk management in high risk industries
- An understanding of all aspects of the oil and gas value chain from exploration, and appraisal through to development and operations
- A deep understanding of production management of upstream oil & gas in Australia and globally
