Condition Monitoring / NDT Technician– MEM • Excellent opportunity to progress in your career development • Be part of a high performing Mobile Equipment Planning team • Residential role in an attractive community focused town - Tom Price About The Role We are looking for a qualified Condition Monitoring/NDT Technician to enable condition-based maintenance strategies to our fleet of mobile equipment in order to improve equipment reliability and improve overall equipment effectiveness, structural integrity to be executed with the minimal financial risk to the business in both probability and consequence magnitude. Working a 5 days on, 2 off roster and reporting to the Senior Maintenance Engineer, you will: • Be accountable for the health of mobile equipment using oil analysis and vibration • Carry out scheduled machinery vibration data collection and performing analysis to evaluate equipment running condition and recommend corrective measures • Complete any non-routine inspection requests as required • Carry out ultra-sonic testing and thickness testing as required • Provide Condition Monitoring Services for Acceptance Criteria of new equipment • Liaise with reliability engineers, maintenance and production teams to link condition monitoring findings and other maintenance strategies • Establishing and maintaining accurate data of NDT database • Executing NDT related routine and non-routine tasks • Creating in house routine and non-routine NDT inspections reports • Identifying and recommending any improvement in HME welding and NDT inspection practices • Correlating with analysis results to determine potential failure mode What you will need for this role To succeed in this role, you will need: • Experience in a Mobile Equipment Condition Monitoring role • A Trade qualification and/or reliability engineering background • Australian "C" Class manual drivers licence • Experience in Non-Destructive Testing and weld inspections • A working knowledge of computerised maintenance management systems such as SAP • Sound knowledge of Australian, Safety and Statutory regulations and standards • Predictive fault analysis and machinery health diagnosis skills • A readiness for proactive and flexible approach to fluctuating workloads It will also be beneficial if you have: • Training in any of the following areas; o Vibration Analysis o Ultrasonic Testing o Thermography o Magnetic Particle Testing Where you will be working In the Pilbara region of Western Australia, Rio Tinto operates the world's largest integrated portfolio of iron ore assets with industry-leading margins.
