Schlumberger Peak Well Systems is looking for an experienced Senior Design Engineer to join our Perth, WA team.

The successful candidate will be highly qualified and experienced in downhole equipment design and preferably with wireline (slickline or electric line) tool design experience.

This position will instigate and manage the conceptual design of new slickline, wireline and completion tools, from concept through to product delivery to our Clients.  The incumbent must have a proven track record of delivering new ideas to the market.

Requirements:

• Reside in Australia and have the full right to live and work in Australia
• No travel restrictions and open to relocation in Australia based on company’s requirement.
• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years’ experience in the design and manufacture of downhole equipment, including downhole testing and crossovers.
• 5+ years’ experience offshore experience.
• Proven experience in the engineering design of new tools for slickline, wireline, flow control and/or completion services.
• Expert competency in a leading CAD software system.
• Experience and understanding the effect of downhole environment and activities to the tools; e.g. galling on threads, sour services.
• Project management experience from new product design from conception through testing and to release to market.
• Experienced in providing solutions to engineering design and maintenance services in response to Client requests.
• Capable of training junior engineers to develop their capabilities.
• Participate in corporate planning of new concept tools and providing critical input into new tool development.
• Experience in working closely with a machine shop and having a strong understanding of the manufacturing processes required.
• Demonstrated ability to manage costs related to specific projects and provide briefing/reports to relevant stakeholders in relation to these costs.
• Capable of supporting the global Schlumberger service delivery organisation, including travel to these locations if required.
• Willingness to work within a workshop environment during testing and trials of new tools .
• High level of report writing experience.
• Ability to work within ISO 9001 standards.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• High level of HSE standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary: The salary package will comprise of a base salary in the range of AUD100,000 – 130,000 / year + benefits.
