About the business and the role

Next Business Energy is a newly established business focused energy retailer operating on the eastern seaboard. In 4 years, we have become one of the leading SME energy operators with many thousands of customers already delivered and serviced by a substantial multi-channel sales and support operation. 

If you possess skills and experience in transfers, service orders and/or meter data, and have the drive and capacity to develop your own skills, and deliver results, this could be the opportunity you've been seeking. As the successful applicant, you must be data and detail oriented with proven market interactions experience, able to demonstrate a keenness to roll up your sleeves and dive in & be energetic and focused. Experience with Orion billing system is highly desirable.

Job tasks and responsibilities

  • Ensuring the daily workflow activities has been run and completed as per Service Level Agreement requirements;
  • Identifying and rectifying market exceptions within Next Business Energy exception handling requirements;
  • Managing service orders, transfers and related errors; insertion and exception handling of meter reads and resolution of internal workflow requirements;
  • Managing contestable meter (C&I) transfers- including liaising with customers to confirm their metering provider (if required), submission of metering request forms and raising relevant change requests to ensure smooth transition into Next Business Energy;
  • Ensuring internal and external enquiries are completed in a timely manner per Service Level Agreement requirements;
  • Ensuring that the resolution takes into account the needs of the company, our customers and also meets our compliance obligations;
  • Establishing and maintaining an excellent constructive and positive working relationship with internal stakeholders;
  • Providing advice and support in market enquiries to all employees within the business;
  • Liaise and provide reports to the Retail Operations Team Leader for issues identified through the investigation of customer complaints and disputes;
  • Managing the information update from the monthly data reports to ensure data and system integrity is maintained; and
  • Undertake additional tasks and projects as requested.

Skills and experience

  • Experience in Energy utilities sector
  • Experience in Retail Operation Back Office processing
  • Very strong interpersonal motivational and relationship building skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and dispute resolution skills with a lateral thinking approach
  • Good organisational awareness, highly motivated with a good work ethic
  • Be genuinely tactful, empathetic, diplomatic and understanding of client needs and expectations
  • Have a professional and reputable standing and ably represent the company
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, meet deadlines and work independently
  • Hands on proficiency with MS Office, especially excel
  • Capacity to accept and effectively implement delegated tasks
  • Qualifications and or experience in problem solving and complaints/dispute resolution
