Newlands Coal is an open-cut coal operation, producing high quality export thermal and coking coal. Employees and their families reside in the friendly and community oriented township of Glenden. Glenden is situated 156 kms west of Mackay in Queensland’s Bowen Basin and is two hours’ drive to the Whitsunday Coast.

We are looking for a self-motivated employee committed to developing a culture driven by safety, quality and continuous improvement to undertake the role of Senior Surveyor. This position will be offered on an 8/6 dayshift only roster. 

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager you will lead the Newlands survey team and will be responsible for all survey requirements associated with the open cut operations. You will ensure compliance with all statutory requirements associated with mine surveying as well as producing efficient and accurate survey controls for open cut production activities.

With a Tertiary Qualification in Surveying (or related discipline), you shall be a registered surveyor in Queensland with OC endorsement with SBQ and have a working knowledge of the Queensland Mining Acts and Regulations. An additional UC endorsement with SBQ would be advantageous. Competency with Vulcan and I-Site Studio software, as well as Leica and Maptek survey equipment is a must.
