We are seeking a diverse and talented individual to take on the role of Supervisor Maintenance at our Area C Mine.  Your duties will include:

  • Demonstrate and instil an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development
  • Accept accountability for the performance of their team by ensuring quality of tasks, services and advice to the operation and asset functions
  • Lead, coach and mentor employees to deliver on plan and build a high performing team
  • Implement the Auxiliary Equipment Maintenance business plan within Mobile Maintenance to ensure consistency with site strategies/plans
  • Assist the Superintendent Auxiliary Maintenance in identifying and implementing initiatives that contribute to current and potential value to the business from an Auxiliary
  • Maintenance perspective, ensuring compliance to the Change Management Procedure
  • Manage the planning, scheduling and execution of all Auxiliary Equipment Maintenance work and promote operating discipline in accordance with the 1SAP work management processes. In particular ensure collaboration with the Mining Production department in order to agree on a weekly maintenance schedule of work
  • Monitor the condition of the equipment by: inspections; reviewing backlogs; KPIs; and delays to ensure it is available to meet business requirements
  • Ensure the tooling and equipment required for maintenance work are in good working condition according to the manufacturers requirements and tested to the site requirements
  • Communicate directly with the Mining Production Department to provide updates of maintenance activities and mining requirements
  • Work with technical training to ensure all employees are trained and deemed competent in machine and equipment operation and, that competencies remain current
  • Regularly monitor area expenditure/trends with the Superintendent and assist in putting put remedial controls in place to meet budget requirements within Auxiliary Maintenance
  • Manage contractors in the department and scope within the approved Contractor Management Framework.
As the successful candidate you will ideally possess the following:

  • Trade qualification or Engineering Degree, desirable
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP
  • Valid Australian C Class driver's license
  • A proven track record of safety management and working knowledge of Mine Safety & Inspection Act & Regulations
  • Strong technical experience within maintenance in a mining business and within in a large scale open pit mining operation
  • Strong communication, negotiation, influencing and relationship management skills
  • Exposure to asset management principles in particular overall equipment effectiveness
  • Experience leading and mentoring teams and an ability to provide leadership and development of staff
Location
 
With this role, you will be fly in fly out from Perth to Mining Area C on an 2/1 roster.  Our Area C mine is located approximately 100kms north west of Newman, West Australia. The outstanding facilities at the FIFO village include; a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, netted cricket pitch, tennis court, basketball court and recreation room including a pool table, darts, table tennis, TV and DVD player. All rooms at the village have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
