Essential to the role:
- Experience using Zonge, GDD, EMIT, Phoenix equipment
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering (preferable)
- Geoscience certificate or higher preferred
- Basic Mechanical and electrical skills
- Australian Drivers Licence C with Manual four wheel drive experience
- First Aid Certificate
- Police Clearance
- Medical and drug test required
- Safety focused and attention to detail

Key responsibilities include
- Survey preparation and data collection
- Team leadership
- Client liaison while demonstrating a strong safety focus
- Use of 3D mining software for viewing mine designs and geotechnical information.
- Compile and verify data.
- Project data collection including visiting mine sites to conduct core logging and mapping.
- Use of geotechnical software to analyse geotechnical data
- Gain familiarity with numerical modelling software to set up and run models.
- Report writing and drafting of figures
- Providing geotechnical advice to mining operations to ensure geotechnical risks are effectively identified, managed and controlled.
- Providing geotechnical input into the short term production planning and scheduling process.
- Providing comprehensive input into the stope design and reconciliation processes.
- Undertaking geotechnical assessments of the underground excavations, rock mass response to mining and ground support performance.
- Managing the geotechnical aspects of day to day operations.
- Developing systems of work to ensure the operational aspects of the geotechnical function are managed such as compliance to ground support installation, QA/QC and rehabilitation plans.
