Our Operations
One of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. The local township of Roxby Downs is an active and progressive community offering a variety of modern, well equipped housing, educational, health, sporting, leisure, shopping and cultural facilities.
Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, Operating on an 8/6 12 hour, rotational roster with residential or FIFO options available.
About the role
Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Development this position is responsible for ensuring the mine development contracts are safely delivered against the weekly and monthly plans and the tracking of contractor performance in relation to key cost savings and or production/ performance initiatives.
- Be first and foremost focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing and coaching your team
- Manage the day to day execution of Mining contracts
- Conduct audits/inspections in line with KPI’s and report as required
- Tracking and monitoring of performance against KPI’s.
- Manage Contract obligations that fall outside of contract scope
About you:
- Demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in ‘Safety Leadership’
- Previous supervisory experience or equivalent within Underground mining work environment
- Strong problem solving/ deep dive/ investigation skills.
- Confident communicator who can effectively engage internal and external stakeholders, influencing and driving decision makers to ensure deadlines are met and actively hold accountability
- Tertiary/Technical qualifications in relevant field are desirable.
