Doray Minerals Ltd (ASX:DRM) is an Australian Gold Producer.

The Deflector Gold Copper Project is located in the southern Murchison region of WA, 450km north of Perth and 160km east of Geraldton. First gold production from Deflector occurred in May 2016.

Deflector is a shallow, narrow vein, high-grade underground mine. The ore is located in three separate lodes being the West, Central and Contact lodes, and is open at depth for extensions. A purpose built processing facility was constructed to enable the recovery of gold in bullion and the production of a gold/copper concentrate via flotation methods.

Recent exploration has been successful in identifying a potential new discovery north of the current Deflector mining operation. The Da Vinci prospect’s mineralisation characteristics are similar to the Deflector Western Lode, and work is ongoing to delineate this potential new ore source to add to the mining plans at Deflector.

THE ROLE

This newly created role is an exciting opportunity for a talented and driven Resource Development Geologist to be part of the Deflector team and make a significant contribution to our continued success. Working as part of the In-Mine Exploration team and reporting to the Chief Mine Geologist, this role will be integral in extending the Deflector Mineral Resource through targeting, planning and execution of Resource definition drill programmes.

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

• Effective planning and supervision of Resource definition and extensional drill programmes;
• Logging, sampling and interpretation of diamond drill core;
• Ensuring all geological data is collected and validated to high QAQC standards;
• Develop and maintain 3D mineralisation, lithological and structural models;
• Assist with Mineral Resource modelling of the Deflector deposit;
• Working closely with the Exploration, Mine Geology and Underground Mining team to communicate geological, geotechnical and grade data to mining, management and contractor personnel; and
• Ensure safe work systems and practices are adhered to.

ABOUT YOU

You are a high calibre Geologist who has an inquisitive mind and drive to continue to grow and develop professionally.  Your exceptional problem solving skills, adaptability and capacity to work within a small team environment will see you excel in this role.

This will be supported by the following qualifications, experience and characteristics;

• Tertiary qualifications in Geology, with 3+ years post graduate experience in production and/or exploration;
• A sound understanding of resource definition programme design and execution, and 3D modelling techniques;
• A sound understanding of narrow vein gold ore forming processes;
• Proficiency using 3d modelling software, preferably Surpac and Leapfrog;
• A methodical approach to data management and validation processes; and
• Experience with Resource estimation will be highly regarded.
