In this key role, you will report to the Operational Planning Manager, and be accountable for the planning and preparation of operational plans and harvesting schedules. You have a lead role in improving workplace health and safety, will champion environmental best practice and preferably be able to design and construct forest roads. Working in a dedicated team you will work collaboratively with colleagues and community and have an ability to form strong working relationships with contractors.
Key responsibilities:
- Timely preparation of harvest plans with close liaison and consultation with all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure all harvesting and roading operations are made aware of and meet our commitment to protecting the environment and uncompromising legal compliance framework.
- Forward plan a full range of thinnings and clearfall operations and contribute to operational and tactical harvest schedules.
- Coordinate the design, construction, and maintenance of our forest road and quarry network.
- Be a champion for safety in all facets of your work.
- Make and form strong lasting relationships with colleagues and be a part of a successful team.
Experience and requirements
To be successful in this role, the candidate must have sound practical experience in planning forestry operations, excellent relationship and time management skills and a strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental standards. An appropriate qualification is preferred.
