We are now seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor for our contract at Sino Iron. Working FIFO from Perth on a 2 & 1 roster on a world class, large-scale magnetite iron ore project, located at Cape Preston, 100km south west of Karratha in Western Australia.
The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for mechanical maintenance and upgrading works for iron-ore beneficiation plant and other duties as listed below:
- Providing effective leadership and supervision to the mechanical team ensuring mechanical works are completed within YEM expectations.
- Conducting regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with legislation and standards.
- Ensuring contractors working onsite are appropriately trained and complying with site safety and equipment standards.
- Undertake any other duty within your capabilities, to meet team/project needs.
- Complying and supporting YEM Quality Management System including reporting, investigating, and rectifying non-conformances
We are seeking experienced candidates with the following skills, experience and qualities:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a maintenance supervisor in a fixed plant or project environment
- Experience in the maintenance/construction of mechanical equipment within minerals processing environment, particularly on Vibrating Screens, AG Mills, Chutes, Cyclones, Conveyors and Pumps.
- Experience in assessing and rectifying equipment failures within an industrial processing plant that is in continuous operation.
- Experience in adhering to Project Contracts and Site Management Plans.
- Interpreting technical diagrams, drawings and specifications.
- Mechanical Trade Qualification
- Sino Iron site experience is preferable.
- Frontline Management qualification
- Section 44 Appointed Persons Certificate
- Foster and maintain a high commitment to safety
- A proactive approach to supervising your team and have the ability to prioritise work as the role demands
- Intermediate computer skills – Microsoft Office programs
- Demonstrate high attention to detail
- Hands on and practical approach to work systems
