Are you a savvy buyer for our savvy shoppers? We have an opportunity for a talented and passionate FMCG specialist buyer. We pride ourselves on the ability to delight our customers with finding new and fun products at savvy prices. As such, this is a true buying role, where you have the authority to act on great one-off deals you believe will deliver results for our customers and our business. The role will be buying in the FMCG sector, with a confectionary focus. This is one of our most successful departments, so we are seeking a buyer with truly successful results.
The Reject Shop is an ASX listed Australian Discount Variety retailer currently operating more than 350 stores nationally. We pride ourselves on our supportive team culture and understanding our customers, delivering the best value and variety possible.

Our Customer
- Establish a merchandise strategy which delivers on customer expectations and builds our savvy shopper following
- Regularly conduct range reviews to ensure products are on trend and provide future growth
- Plan and implement successful promotional activity for catalogues and seasonal events that are sure to delight our customers
Our Team
- Collaboratively work with a planner and allocations analyst to ensure successful sales and sell through rates
- Closely work with the marketing team to deliver promotional sales returns
- Maintain positive working relationships with distribution centre and store teams
Our Performance
- Develop, implement and manage the merchandise strategy for your department, building on previous success
- Continuously evaluate the local market for product opportunity or changes in the retail environment
- Range plans demonstrate an improvement in sales and sell through rates
To be successful in the role, we are seeking an FMCG specialist, ideally with experience in confectionary and grocery, however proven track record in buying toiletries or cleaning will also be considered. Private label development along with parallel importing experience would be considered an advantage.
