Supply Chain Network Range Planning Manager | A Fresh New Direction
About The Role
Reporting into the Head of Network & Capacity Planning, the Supply Chain Network Range Planning Manager is responsible for ensuring product flow and range configuration is optimal across the Woolworths Food and EDG supply network. Fundamentally, this role balances strategies, rules and thresholds to deliver availability, cost management and inventory optimisation.
The role has recently evolved and now has three main responsibilities:
1. Leadership:
The Range Planning team consists of network analysts and planners. The team’s analysts are focused on reviewing continuous improvement opportunities for the ranging and flow across the network using analytical tools that have recently been upgraded, while the planners are critical at managing the planning and execution of range changes resulting from category development across the Food and EDG groups.
2. Managing Product Lifecycle and Planning:
Ensuring that the product life cycle is effectively managed to achieve maximised store service (availability) at the lowest supply chain cost, within the available DC capacity (pick slots). In particular the introduction/ deletion of products to agreed timelines by all stakeholders and continuous improvement to simplify processes.
3. Managing Network Ranging and Flow:
Leading complex detailed analysis in collaboration with Supply Chain and Buying to identify opportunities to reduce the cost of operations and improve product availability that considers inventory holdings, network capability and network utilisation. Further, ensuring the submission of network ranging proposals are accurate with the mechanisms in place to track and monitor impacts to business performance.

Leading teams of at least 5 people in a large retail business and preferably with demonstrated ability in critical thinking and data analysis.

Demonstrated ability in leading analytical teams to build data models for solving complex problems and aid decision making supported by advanced Excel competency

Ability to succinctly translate findings from extensive analysis and propose clear recommendations to a range of stakeholders

Experience in Category Management and/or Supply Chain Planning

Proven ability to performance manage team members to achieve targets and KPIs, with the ability to deliver high performing teams
Desirable

Experience with Llamasoft or similar tool

Organisation Change Management

Strong Financial and Business Acumen, with a focus on fact based decision making

Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Knowledge and understanding of Woolworth’s Group Supply Chain
