Role

We are looking for an experienced, commercially astute and results oriented Category Manager to join our team to drive the retail sales performance of the Gifts & Souvenirs category in our stores. Taking ownership of the strategic direction of the category, you will be responsible for managing the budgeting, forecasting and promotional activities for Gifts & Souvenirs along with the day-to-day maintenance tasks associated. Responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and developing supplier relationships
  • Managing and improving supply chain efficiencies to stores 
  • Regular range reviews/new range implementation
  • Regular market reporting, reviews and updates 
  • Forecasting category trends and the potential impact and risk to business
  • Maintaining master-data integrity in the ERP
  • Monthly & ad-hoc reporting
  • Maintaining planograms and supporting stores in the merchandising execution 

In order to be successful in this role you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing, retail, business or a related field
  • Previous experience in category management for Gifts & Souvenirs category
  • Strong Microsoft suite skills including intermediate to advanced Excel 
  • A high level of initiative and autonomy
  • Highly developed stakeholder management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressured environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
