About the role

As the Merchandise Manager you will be accountable for managing all aspects of the OTB process to maximise the sell-through of a carefully curated product range that is enticing and relevant to the Australian market.

You will be responsible for establishing a productive and transparent relationship with our Italian team. Creating and maintaining process documentation, tools and timeline integration are all key objectives of this role.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Attend Group collection buys each season to select merchandise that will result in maximum profits
  • Perform In-season analysis & respond – generate weekly and monthly Retail Merchandise reports
  • Analyse stock turn and consolidate merchandise within or between markets, according to needs
  • Assist in developing end of season sale strategy
  • Work with Furla Italy/HQ to develop the right strategy for product lines and categories to maximize sales and profitability
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis, seasonal training, stock consolidations and reorders
  • Implement corporate key projects in stores and markets through close collaboration with various functions like Retail, Marketing, and Visual Merchandising
  • Prepare pre-buying reports e.g. SKU performance; Assist in building up collection. Update and align selection with OTB in terms of quantity and value
  • Organize and transmit orders post-buy
  • Coordinate on-stock movements & other merchandise factors – work with the logistics team to coordinate bulk transfers between countries
  • Monitor shipment based on HQ guideline and business trend for each market shipment
  • Communicate regularly with the warehouse team and stores to ensure products land according to the Merchandise Plan and Activity Planner

 

Who we’re looking for

Key skills, experience and qualities we’re looking for include:

  • 3 + years’ experience in a similar role within the Fashion Retail industry; previous experience in a multinational organization is highly desirable
  • Proven track-record of successful product selection that results in exceptional sell-through results and profitability for the brand
  • Preparing and communicating all product information to maximise our retail teams’ product knowledge
  • Proven leadership, communication and organizational skills
  • Analytical, problem solving skills and effectively manages multiple priorities
  • A focused and capable manager who will work strategically to achieve success
  • Confidence and the ability to influence across a variety of levels and stakeholders in the business 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding relationship building skills and easily develops trust
  • A clear thinker and a strong leader; someone who works well in a collaborative setting yet will take initiative and drive results independently
  • Someone who presents incredibly well and is impeccably groomed in order to reflect our brand image and be a brand ambassador
