The Book Grocer is currently seeking booksellers to help set up our very first store in Adelaide, starting the first week of August.
Applications close on Wednesday 25 July, but get in touch sooner if you can! Time is of the essence!
We will be shortlisting and conducting reference checks on 26-27 July, and interviewing on Monday 30 and Tuesday 31 July. Store setup will commence later that week.
The Book Grocer is a family-owned bookshop business. We pride ourselves on sourcing amazing books from around the globe, selling them at discount prices to our fantastic customers, and training and supporting our staff in a warm and friendly working environment.
At the Book Grocer you'll join a small team and participate in every aspect of bookselling. You'll be on the sales floor helping customers find that perfect read; you'll be unpacking deliveries full of amazing new books; you'll be helping create inviting displays, all surrounded by books and other book-lovers!
We rely on our book-loving staff to greet and engage with customers and help them find what they are looking for, including suggesting books and ensuring our displays are inviting, all with a quick hand and an enthusiastic approach.

Duties include customer service, ringing up sales, banking and end of day, visual merchandising and stock management. Employment is on a casual basis, 10-20 hours per week, usually in 4-5 hour shifts.
