A leading Australian Media company requires a new Head of Data & Insights. 
My client is a longstanding, high profile media company, growing from within, and adding to from without (on the acquisition trail in a big way).
It is an exciting period of growth and transformation, with a number of new roles being added to the team.   
This is a key role, reporting to the GM of Marketing, and working tightly with the Chief Innovation Officer and the Chief Data Scientist. 

Background to the role: 
Following a period of partnership with specialist data providers, the company's already extensive media data reach has been augmented with real-world behavioral data. The company has developed a planning and optimization tool that maps audience understanding to key locations and increases the effectiveness of campaign solutions, minimizing wastage.  They are further exploring new data sets to bring into the capability such as browsing and mobile data.   

What is needed?
The most suitable candidates will likely come from a media background, in a research and insights management position, with exposure to complex data sets. Previous B2B experience is preferable but not essential.
 
Leading the overall data & insights capabilities includes owning "Iris" pre and post-campaign performance capability, and the overall planning and optimization of data capability in bespoke inhouse tools.
 
In addition the HoD&I shall manage and implement consumer research and insights projects, manage Nielsen CMV, AdViews, and other client and special research projects and ensure Australia & New Zealand sales teams are provided with effective research and insights support.

Effective & Capable:
As a senior member of the team working in an innovative company, you would also be capable of  identifying opportunities or risks for/to evolving products, and be capable  of developing strategies and plans to overcome challenges and capitalize on opportunities.
 
To be successful in the role you will also have excellent client facing skills, and will present to internal and external stakeholders, including media agencies and clients

  The bullets:
  • 5 years’ experience managing research and insights
  • Experience working with complex data sets
  • Syndicated media research skills (CMV, Roy Morgan, AdEx, MOVE)
  • A strategic mindset with experience developing a data roadmap or strategy
  • Essential to have strong working knowledge of the marketing process
  • Ideally have previous experience within media or related industry
  • Previous success leading a team of analysts
  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing or related discipline
