The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV), based in Ascot Vale is a member-based; not-for-profit organisation. RASV enables communities to celebrate and showcase their passion through world-class programs and events, connecting industry with consumers. RASV also manages the Royal Melbourne Show, Victoria’s most iconic annual community event.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager and an integral part of the Marketing team, this is an outstanding opportunity to step up and take ownership of the communications function.
As there are no direct reports, previous experience in managing the communications function as opposed to management of a team is critical.
What will your day look like?
Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing a communications plan for the organisation, preparing speeches, corporate publications, on-line content and background papers, managing the public relations function including writing and distributing media releases and media liaison.
This role is also accountable for developing and updating content for websites and social media platforms.
This role has diverse responsibilities and competing deadlines, so we are looking for candidates who are able to take personal accountability for all communication activities and initiatives and ensure that outcomes are achieved.
The right approach is vital in our company; you will need to have a harmonious and collaborative attitude and the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at once.
What we are looking for?
You will be degree qualified in a relevant discipline, have broad previous communications experience, outstanding written skills (including copy writing and editing) and a proven track record of developing effective corporate communications.
A knowledge of, and interest in, agriculture and issues impacting regional Victoria and rural communities is highly desirable.
You are innovative, insightful, and also display sound judgement and decision making skills and excel in an environment that is collaborative and open.
