BizCover is Australia number one InsureTech platform for Business Insurance.  Our aim is to give Small Businesses a fair go when buying their insurance by providing them with clear and competitive pricing.  As well as cutting out the complicated Insurance jargon.  Whilst we have been established for over ten years, we are still very much in start up mode and are constantly looking at new ways to improve our current business offering.

The Role –

The Analytics Team is looking to recruit a Senior / Data Analyst to add knowledge to this new function and act as a consultant to our largest team at BizCover - Operations which encompasses Sales, Retention and Service.  Reporting to the Analytics Lead this is a brand new role and a real opportunity to add value to the business by providing insight and rigor to future decision making.   You will be responsible for running projects from start to finish, so you will need to –

• Be Consultative - Meet with key stakeholders to understand their requirements and in some cases, tell them what they need or what options are available from the data and analytics available
• Be hands on with the data – understand what data is available from the various new and legacy systems - problem solve and navigate the different systems
• Embrace change – we are a small and constantly evolving business, we need people who thrive in this environment, don’t need everything to be perfect and are passionate about helping us to always improve
• Be a true team player- whilst this role has no direct reports, we want someone who is willing to upskill and coach other team members, to help everyone be the best they can be at their job.

Essential skills required for this role are–

• An expert in SQL coding and Excel
• A degree in Statistics or Maths
• Experience in working closely with stakeholders across a business to identify what key metrics are required to drive decisions and measure progress

Desireable experience includes –

• Experience in R, Machine Learning or GLM/Regression Modelling
• Insurance experience or experience working in a start up company setting up the analytics for a team
