Cox & Kings is a 257-year-old global travel business enjoying an exciting period of expansion and opportunity. We are looking for a new Marketing Executive to join the team in our regional head office.
The perfect applicant will be an enthusiastic, proactive marketing professional ready to move their marketing career in the right direction. You will be hands-on creating content, producing trade and consumer collateral (print and online), posting to our social media audience and working closely with the team to ensure our trade (B2B) campaigns get traction.
The successful candidate will work within a passionate Sales and Marketing team in South Melbourne looking after our multiple travel/tourism brands and our trade relationships with the major retail chains. They will have the guidance and support of in-house and external industry experts to grow and hone their skills in trade and consumer marketing.
Primary tasks of the role:
- Coordinate the process of taking product from development to market.
- Grow inquiry levels through effective use of marketing channels - trade PR, trade advertising and consumer advertising.
- Coordinate B2B campaigns with stakeholders of retail partnerships
- Research, write and produce engaging original travel content for newsletters, social media and PR.
- Maintain a high level of discipline to ensure regular deadlines and ROI targets are met
- Be creative but accountable; spending equal energies on the interesting aspects of the role and accuracy in the administrative ones
- Organise trade and marketing events such as Expos, Brochure Launches, etc.
- Liaise with travel trade media to provide briefing on new products/Promotions
We are looking for a person who:
- has attained a formal qualification in marketing or a related discipline (highly desirable)
- has an understanding of the travel industry (highly desirable)
- has competent computer skills
- has exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal)
- is meticulous and acquires excellent attention to detail
- enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
- is able to work both independently and within a team environment
- ability to plan and meet deadlines and
- shares a passion for travel.
