The Role
QSuper are seeking a skilled communications professional to join our Investments team in the newly-created role of Investment Relations and Communications Specialist. In this unique role, you’ll develop and deliver an investment communication framework and will play a pivotal part in communicating QSuper’s investment capability across the QSuper organisation, our membership, and external stakeholder groups.

You’ll report to the Senior Manager, Policy and Governance within the Investments team, however you’ll work closely with colleagues across the organisation including Customer & Marketing, Corporate Affairs, Product, Digital, Legal, Compliance and Internal Communications. You’ll act as a subject matter expert, representing investments across communications and marketing initiatives, and through external channels such as ratings agencies, social media and member marketing & seminars. Ideally, you’ll have institutional investment experience and the skills and confidence to articulate a differentiated investment philosophy and strategy to a wide range of audiences.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

In addition to the above, the ideal Investment Relations and Communications Specialist will have:

  • Strong technical institutional investment knowledge with a comprehensive understanding of the institutional competitive environment
  • Demonstrable experience in comparable in-house financial communication roles or responsibilities within international investment institutions. A key aspect of the role is understanding of (and engagement with) QSuper’s internationally regarded investment strategy. Accordingly, it’s essential you have a strong, in-depth understanding of investment concepts and strategy
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline (Economics, Finance, Investments). Qualifications in Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations or Communications will be viewed as desirable but not essential
  • Proven ability to build trust and to influence colleagues and key stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a high-performing, cross-divisional team environment
  • Strong delivery focus, with the ability to adapt and remain calm in competitive and changing environments
  • Demonstrable ability to act with integrity at all times, embracing the QSuper investment philosophy and our member-centric culture
  • A strong customer focus, delivering to both internal stakeholders and external customers.
