Your new company
We are looking for an APS6 Communications Specialist for an opportunity until the end of 2018. The role sits within a growing communications team who provide advice and support on a range of internal and external activities and are responsible for communicating departmental policies, programmes and services.
Your new role
As the Communications Specialist, you will assist in managing all the communication functions for the department.
Your key duties will include:
- Development, implementation and evaluation of communication strategies
- Development of communications material including articles and reports
- Researching and developing advice
- Preparation of briefings, presentations and correspondence
- Engaging with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for someone with demonstrated experience in communications. You will hold the ability to develop and implement communication strategies and see projects through from start to finish. As this role will require you to provide professional advice and support on a variety of communications activities, you will be someone who is able to build and sustain relationships with a range of stakeholders. A keen eye for detail, strong organisational and prioritisation skills are essential to be successful in this role.
What you'll get in return
Tertiary qualifications and/or experience in public affairs and communications is highly desirable. Previous experience within the APS is advantageous.
