Harvey Water delivers water to it's Cooperative member's, small private irrigators and industrial users, sourcing water from seven South West dams from Waroona in the North to Wellington Dam in the South. The system spans over 112,000 hectares, with more than 450km of pipeline and 250km of channels. Harvey Water’s office is located in Harvey, 150km South of Perth.

Harvey Water is creating a Business Development Manager (BDM) role to respond to the expansion and diversification of its business as a result of a desire for water security by its Members and Customers. The BDM will work closely with and report directly to the General Manager (GM); as a member of the senior leadership team the position will aim to sustainably grow Harvey Water’s operations.

The BDM will have primary responsibility for customer development and engagement aspects of the business.  This includes the functions of customer service, compliance, marketing, managing commercial relationships, business case development and contract administration.  

The Business Development Manager will be an energetic outcome-based individual who demonstrates the following skills and abilities;

  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to think strategically;
  • Ability to provide insight from financial and non-financial data;
  • Contract negotiation and management experience;
  • Experience in developing and presenting Business Cases with an emphasis on sustainability, financial modelling and risk management;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to form and maintain positive business relationships;
  • A proven ability to manage staff effectively and work productively and cooperatively within a management team;
  • Ability to manage quality, consistency and accuracy of corporate marketing and promotional mediums;
  • The ability to manage competing priorities confidently and competently;
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement in business performance whilst maintaining positive relationships;
  • The ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • The ability to handle confidential information professionally;
  • Confident communicator, with excellent written and spoken English and strong presentational skills;
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and an industry standard project management software.

A base salary commensurate with qualifications, skills and experience will be offered in addition to, a company vehicle, 14.5% superannuation and STI bonus program.
