Due to outstanding growth and a strong pipeline, Aurecon is seeking expressions of interest from talented Senior Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Consultants to work with our regional communication and stakeholder engagement team on a range of infrastructure projects.

The role

The role involves working across one or more infrastructure projects, guiding delivery of bespoke communication and engagement programs and supporting more junior members of the team to do so. On any day this may include developing or delivering community engagement strategies or plans, writing or reviewing communication materials, facilitating workshops, participating in client meetings, managing conversations with outraged community members, exploring risk management or making decisions associated with the engagement approach. It may include team administration or idea development or it may include managing up or down.

You will bring

You must have experience of the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) and community engagement practices. You can write like a champion, develop communication and engagement strategies and implement them effectively. You know how to approach issues and can resolve them appropriately. You can manage up and manage down and know where to put your next step. You will have:

• A bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism or similar
• Experience working on road, rail, energy or water infrastructure projects (inc construction)
• Consultancy experience
• Excellent people skills and a willingness to engage
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills and the ability to translate technically complex language
• Digital capabilities that support your written work and face to face practice
• Sound administration skills
• The ability to work within multi-disciplinary project teams
• The ability to be mobile if required.
