We are currently seeking an experienced Trade Qualified Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance team located at our Gympie Pinepanels operations.

Gympie is situated 2 hours north of Brisbane and less than an hour from Noosa and the beaches on the Sunshine Coast. Gympie is home to the renowned “Gympie Music Muster” and less than an hour from Rainbow Beach, one of the gateways to the iconic Fraser Island. The climate allows a range of outdoor activities and the community is well supported in terms of schools, shopping and health care.

You must be a trade qualified Mechanical Fitter and have acquired further trade qualifications. We are actively seeking those with demonstrated Leadership skills who have the capacity and desire to move in time to a Leadership role.

This is a permanent position with career development opportunities for the right candidate. The successful candidate must be able to work either day shift or 12 hour rotating rosters.

To be considered for this role you must:

• Have a minimum of 5 years plus experience beyond your base trade ideally gained in a manufacturing/industrial environment
• Possess formal trade qualifications in Mechanical Trades, a dual trade including electrical will be well regarded
• Be able to promote/ensure safe work practices
• Ensure effective hazard/incident identification investigation & control processes are followed
• Lead by example
• Ensure appropriate level of risk identification evaluation and control in place
• Understand and apply company policies, procedures and statutory requirements
• Demonstrate a flexible and can do attitude
• Work with production crews to ensure activities such as repairs, breakdowns, planned shuts and plant improvements are in line with production, safety and environmental priorities
• Be adaptable to respond to the demands of the moment

Ideally you will have experience in the following:

• Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems
• Confined spaces and Working at Heights certificates/qualifications
• Heavy high speed industrial environment
