About the Role:

Reporting to the Operations Leader, you will be responsible for the supervision and performance of commercial waste services to ensure safety, productivity and work quality whilst ensuring the transport operation is managed in the most cost effective manner to meet budgeted operational requirements. You will be responsible for ensuring pre-start checks and post run checks. You will investigate and report on performance issues, manage costs and ensure compliance.  Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures & administration. This will involve route scheduling & sequencing to achieve maximum contingency coordinating drivers.

About you:

The successful candidate will ideally have prior experience within the waste and/or logistics industry, moderate supervisory experience leading a small committed team and strong customer focus, sound computer skills, time management skill & sound communication skills. Current HR driver’s license mandatory.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Accountable for the safe operation of the environmental department and contribute towards safety initiatives throughout the business.
• Ensure works are performed to the required safety and quality standards through both scheduled and non-scheduled site checks to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Managed assigned team to ensure an efficient and effective service is provided to the customer based on best practice and in accordance with work schedules, policies and procedures and contract specifications.
• Responsible for ensuring that the team is adequately trained to safely and effectively fufil their role.
• Build the Citywide brand relationship with clients as one of trust, understanding and service.
• Act as a designated subject matter expert in a nominated field of expertise as required.
