Our Opportunity

The Thales Australia Avionics, Training & Simulation (ATS) is comprised of two business lines:

• Training & Simulation
• Helicopter Avionics

The Training & Simulation business delivers both simulation products and training services to Defence and Civil customers in Australia. The organisation is customer focused with many of its staff located at customer sites delivering high levels of service under Performance-based contracts.

The Senior Simulator Technician is responsible for coordinating a team of technicians to operate and maintain the simulator.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise a team of technicians to operate and maintain the simulator as directed by the Maintenance Manager
• Ensure that the simulator is maintained in accordance with the manufacturers’ guidelines
• Coordinate corrective maintenance as and when required
• Maintain tools and test equipment, and ensure equipment is in calibration
• Maintain records and documentation
• Act and undertake duties as a Self Certifying Maintainer (SCM) when authorised
• Co-ordinate spares and repairs to ensure that the simulator meets its contracted availability requirements.
• Maintain a sound working relationship with the customer and other relevant stakeholders.

About You:

• Diploma or Certificate in Aircraft Electronics or Avionics Trade, or Certificate or Diploma of Engineering Electronic Trades or equivalent
• Demonstrated experience in working as a Simulator Technical ideally in team lead/senior capacity
• Sound interpersonal skills and ability to maintain good team morale and customer/account relationships

Special Requirements

To apply for this role you must be eligible for a Defence Security Clearance (Baseline| ). You may need to be ITARS cleared; therefore Thales need to know if you hold any other passport other than Australian, or have dual citizenship.
