About the role: 

We are proud to partner with a highly regarded Newcastle engineering consultancy that provides a diverse range of geotechnical and geo-environmental investigation and design solutions for all development types. Their services include: 

• Site Classification Investigation
• Slope Stability Investigation
• Onsite Effluent Dispersal Investigations
• Road Pavement Thickness Design
• Acid Sulfate Soil Investigation and Management Plans
• Insitu Soil Permeability Investigations
• Contaminated Site Investigations & Remedial Action Plans
• Waste Classification Investigations
• Groundwater Investigation and Management Plans
• Environmental Monitoring

Due to an ever growing pipeline of work, our client is looking for a Geotechnical Assistant to join their team. This person's role will be to support the Geotechnical Engineers both in the field and in the office, carrying out any required tasks such as transcribing field notes, assisting with the preparation of reports and maintaining equipment. Applicants will require a good level of fitness to comfortably perform the field duties as the role will sometimes be physically demanding and involve some heavy lifting. In addition, applicants will require computer skills (particularly Microsoft Office programs). 

Prior experience as a Field Technician or within a Geotechnical Engineering environment is desirable, however our client is willing to train someone who is motivated, eager to learn, and has a passion for their work.
